Caddies Creek Reserve playing fields include four sporting fields, two amenities buildings, abundant parkland, car parking for more than 120 cars, a new playground and more than two kilometres of shared pedestrian/cycle paths. This reserve features two football fields, which are used as a cricket oval during summer.
The Caddies Creek Sports Complex consisted of heavily used soccer fields which were void of grass in the centre corridor. Extensive usage resulted in bare soil which would displace and create low areas where water would pool in rain events.
This was a perennial issue for Hills Shire Council and replacing areas with natural turf was a regular occurrence.
Like many council facilities there was little time to install new turf and have it establish between seasons and ready for the next seasons sport.
The Hills Shire Council engaged HG Turf Group to install XtraGrass ready to play hybrid turf in the heaviest wear areas on the fields at Caddies Creek Sports Complex.
XtraGrass is grown on HG Turf Group's Sydney based turf nursery site and enables same day installation and play.
Minimisation of down time and removing the need to have the field out of play to let the turf establish, XtraGrass provides the best of both world’s – 95% natural grass supported by synthetic.
It looks, feels and plays like natural turf for up to 3x the amount of hours of natural turf. XtraGrass will maintain its playability and consistency, even when natural grass cover is lost, mitigating the risk of potholes and potential trip hazards for players during a season of intense usage.
Our staff are experts in the turf industry and are ready to discuss your requirements for your next project with you.
